Hi To all the good peoples who keep coming back to check my Photosushi . It's been a long time since my last update .
So what's happened ?
Moved to a new lovely apartment , almost brand new with a nice view of mount Hakusan .
Then i had to wait to get my internet connected , my bad . Left to order it after the move .
A couple days before the internet got connect i got sent into an assignment from the Metro Uk to photography the 100 days anniversary of Tohoku earthquake /tsunami.
As all those things wasn't enough to keep me away from my Mac , now i got my old habit running full blast back in me .
Skateboarding !! I know i am a 38 years old men , but i can't get away from my board .
So here is the whole story . Hope you all understand .
I have 1000s of new photos and always have my Nikon with me , just don't got the time to sit in front of my mac to edit and upload .
But i will do my best to post more often . Have a lot to show and share with all of you .

For today's menu . A right wing man who was part of a manifestation in Shinjuku.
He wasn't too pleased when realized that a " gaijin " just took his photo . But this gaijin here he'd a fresh shaved head , sunglasses on and all dressed in black +i had a big Nikon with a lens bigger than his arm ;)
So i got away .

I had a little chat with this men and asked him a few questions .
I will do my best and try to transcribe the conversation .
(me) Hi , good morning .
(old men) Good morning
(me) You guys got a pretty tough situation here . How are you doing ?
(old men) I'm ok , happy to alive but all this destruction is kind depressing (he was kind and smiling for the whole conversation)
(me) So , how did you react when the tsunami warning came ? Was it scary ?
(old men) (Laughing) Me and my wife was at the local shopping mall when we got the warning . So i didn't give much thought about . We have tsunamis warnings all the time since i was a kid .
And the warning was issued 50 minutes before the first wave . It's is a long time so i thought it was another false alarm .
(me)Good nobody was at home when the first wave came !
(old men)My son was at home !!! But luckily we have a 2 floors house and it wasn't washed away so he just run to the second floor . The first floor was up to the ceiling with water . But my son was safe .
(me) Will you rebuild the house or move to somewhere else ?
(old men) I would rebuild it but this time peoples i know died and is too much destruction around , so i think i will move to somewhere else but before that i will help make this area liveable at least .
I saw the plate on your car , did you came all the way from Ishikawa ??
(me) Yes sir i did . I had to see it for myself and i brought some stuff to give to you guys .
(old men) Thanks
(me) No worries . Please can i take a photo of you in front of your place .
(old men)(laughing) After driving all the way here , of course you can . Where you want me to stand , here is ok ?
(me ) Thanks , i hope everything turn all right for you and your family . Ganbate .

When i got to Miyagi i began to the see effects of the tsunami , hundreds of cars washed away by the water .
The earthquake itself didn't do much damage , some houses and buildings cracked but as far i could see none collapse because the quake .
The tsunami was the real Tohoku nemesis .
During my 2 days there i felt several aftershocks but i never paid much attention to it . But when i was by the bay and a pretty big aftershock came ( big for me anyway ) the first thing i thought was - Fuck , tsunami coming !!!!!!!
Right after the quake the alarms start ringing full blast and after the alarms a voice came from the speakers telling peoples about the quake . WTF , i felt the quake no need to tell me that , i want to know about the tsunami !!!!!!
After 3 or 4 minutes the voice is back (i am already dashing to my car ) , but all the voice has to say was - No worries , there is no tsunami alert .
I didn't know if i could believe that voice but since i was the only bitch running i guess i overreact just a bit .

The rescue teams marked all the cars they have checked for victims .
I saw one car that still have blood on the stearing wheel and dashboard and looking at the state of it i doubt the person who was inside got away but i hope he or she did.

A lot ships were washed into the roads and some even end up on the top of houses .
This one would have the same end but somehow the ropes kept it tied the dock .

This house is located about 5 or 6 blocks away from the the bay but still got hit pretty hard .

The city of Shiogama in Miyagi city was hit hard by the quake and tsunami around the bay area . Not hard as the cities up North .
But anyway the destruction i saw was overwhelming .
Warehouses like this one are totally destroyed . Some were wiped out and dragged back in to the sea .

The last couple photos were about the underground culture life in Japan .
This one is a pure example of the how many faces Japan has !
Eiheji is the of the most famous zen temples in the whole world and i catch myself coming back to the place every other year .
Pictures of the monks are not allowed there , but anyone with some common sense can get a sneak photo . Just be respectful , having a camera and think of yourself as a photographer doesn't give you the right to disturb the pace and peace of the place .
If you ever get around Fukui prefecture in Japan ,stop by Eiheji .
You won't regret it .

Last saturday the guys from "Steel Body " had an event here in Kanazawa .
And of course i was there ! Built a DIY white backdrop and got all the cool kids to show up their tattoos .
I had a blast that night and a really bad hangover the next morning .
Thanks Leo and Jun to invite me over and let me do my thing and to all the cool cats that gave me a bit of their time to pose .
About the kid on the pic . I don't think he really believes that "god hate us all" coz he was smiling all the time and was nice to everyone around .

Hi everyone !!!
I was looking through some old slides and negatives other day . God , i can't believe how long had pass without me even touch my archive of films.
Digital is here to stay and i know it . But i really believe that film still have space on the photography world .
I kind feel sorry for someone nowadays who never had the chance of spend hours on the darkroom looking at trays and be amazed when that image you made start to appear on the paper like magic .
If you have a REAL passion about photography and never a chance of shooting film , please do yourself a favor ! Get a point and shoot camera ,load with film and take some photos . I'm sure you will love the feeling of press the shutter and not be sure how it will come out .
So today i decided to upload a film photo i made years a go in Paris ! It's a cliche but is my cliche and i am proud of it !
And i'm am proud to say that i took my Bronica 6x6 full manual without a photometer and my Nikon F5 for a ride ! It's soo good to turn a nob to crank the film or hear the sound of the motor drive advance the film .
Most important ! Have fun !!!!!

I just can't stop playing the bloody game .

A couple months a go me and Miss Sa got in car early in a morning and drove to the morning market in Wajima .
The weather was kind rainy but it was alright .
This old lady was sitting there on the rain since 8 AM and she still there when we left around 1 pm . And you could tell she didn't need the money !
Want to know why ?
She had all the vegetables that wasn't for sale packed on a truck of a brand new Lexus ! Go figure .
Btw the way , sorry for the lack of updates . I got a few excuses :)
Work , crashed my car , laziness and ( Oh lord ) F….. Call of duty modern warfare 2 .
Miss Sa gave me a playstation 3 back in november to replace my DVD player .
And a friend introduced me to COD !
Bad mistake ! I can't stop playing it ! Specially after the new map pack !
So that's about it .
Opsss ! Miss Sa got me a nice compact camera for my birthday but i will talk about it on the next post !!!!!
